Friday, June 6: Grace-Filled Growth in Holiness
Day 5: Grace-Filled Growth in Holiness
Friday, June 6, 2025
Reading: Matthew 5:48, Philippians 2:12-13
The Sermon on the Mount sets a high standard for disciples of Jesus. It's easy to feel overwhelmed by the call to be "perfect as your heavenly Father is perfect." But remember, this growth in holiness is a work of God's grace in us.
We're called to "work out our salvation," but it's God who works in us. Our role is to continually turn to Him in repentance and faith, asking for the virtues we lack and trusting in His transforming power. Holiness isn't about self-effort, but about abiding in Christ and allowing His life to flow through us.
Identify one area where you're struggling to live out Jesus' teachings. Bring this to God in prayer, acknowledging your need and asking for His grace to grow. Take one small step of obedience in this area today, relying on His strength.
