Thursday, July 3: Hope in God's Covenant Love
Day 4: Hope in God's Covenant Love
Thursday, July 3, 2025
Reading: Psalm 44:23-26, Lamentations 3:19-26
The Psalmist's plea for God to "wake up" and help them is a raw, honest prayer. Yet even in this desperate cry, there's an appeal to God's covenant love - a reminder of His unchanging character and promises. Similarly, Jeremiah, in the midst of great suffering, anchors his hope in God's unfailing compassions.
What situations in your life or in the world around you make you want to cry out, "God, where are you?" Bring these honestly before the Lord today. Then, like the Psalmist and Jeremiah, intentionally shift your focus to God's steadfast love and faithfulness. How might remembering His character and promises change your perspective on your circumstances?
