Reading: Psalm 46:1-7, John 16:16-24
While Psalm 47 is a triumphant song, it's set against the backdrop of Psalm 46, which speaks of God as our refuge in times of trouble. Our King is not distant, but present with us even when "the mountains fall into the heart of the sea." In Christ, we have the promise of His abiding presence through the Holy Spirit.
Reflect on times when you've experienced God's presence in the midst of difficulty. How did it change your perspective? Jesus promised that our sorrow will turn to joy. Even if you're in a season of struggle, ask God to help you trust in His presence and coming joy. Close your time by writing a prayer of thanksgiving for God's faithfulness in all circumstances.
