Friday, August 29: Waiting on God's Justice

Day 5: Waiting on God's Justice
Reading: Psalm 52:5-7; 2 Peter 3:8-13

The psalmist describes God's eventual judgment on the wicked, promising that the righteous will see and "laugh" at their downfall. However, this isn't a call for personal vengeance, but rather an assurance that God will ultimately bring justice. Peter reminds us that God's timing is different from ours, and His apparent "slowness" is actually patience, giving people time to repent.

How do you respond when you see injustice in the world? While we should work for justice where we can, today's passages remind us to ultimately trust in God's perfect timing and judgment. Pray for those who are suffering from injustice, and ask God to give you patience and hope as you wait for His ultimate redemption of all things.
