Wednesday, October 22 | The Cost and Reward of Discipleship
Day 3: The Cost and Reward of Discipleship
Reading: Matthew 16:24-26
The call to take up our cross and follow Jesus is a call to sacrifice. It means putting aside our own desires and ambitions for the sake of Christ and His kingdom. Yet, Jesus assures us that in losing our life for His sake, we truly find it. Today, examine your life. What might you need to "lose" to follow Christ more fully? It could be a habit, a relationship, or a long-held ambition. Reflect on the eternal reward that comes from fully surrendering to God. Pray for the courage to embrace the cost of discipleship, knowing that what you gain in Christ far outweighs any earthly loss.
