Friday, December 19 | The King Who Submitted So You Could Reign
Day 5: The King Who Submitted So You Could Reign
Reading: Philippians 2:5-11; 2 Corinthians 5:21
Devotional: The greatest paradox of Christmas leads to the cross: the King submitted to death so His subjects could have life. Jesus surrendered everything so you could gain everything. He endured mockery so you could receive praise. He wore thorns so you could wear a crown. He experienced God's forsakenness so you could know eternal adoption. He descended into darkness so you could walk in marvelous light. This is the gospel—the joyful exchange. When you submit to Christ's kingship, you're not losing; you're gaining immeasurably. His yoke is easy and His burden is light because He already carried the crushing weight. Today, respond to His sacrifice with full surrender. Let go of your failing attempts at self-rule and enter the joy, peace, and purpose found only in His kingdom. The King has made the way. Will you walk in it?
