Wednesday, December 17 | The Paradox of Paradise
Day 3: The Paradox of Paradise
Reading: Luke 23:33-46; John 18:36
Devotional: As Jesus hung dying, mockers questioned His kingship. Yet one thief saw clearly: Jesus possessed a kingdom beyond this world. His request was simple—"remember me when you come into your kingdom." Jesus' response reveals the heart of the gospel: "Today you will be with me in Paradise." Notice Jesus didn't promise wealth, healing, or earthly comfort. He promised presence. Paradise is defined not by golden streets or mansions, but by being "with me." The key to experiencing the joy of Christmas—both now and eternally—is recognizing Jesus' kingship and submitting to His rule. Where are you resisting His lordship? What area of life are you trying to rule yourself? True paradise begins when we surrender our small kingdoms for His eternal one.
