Day 4: The Gentle Servant King
Reading: Isaiah 42:1-4; Matthew 11:28-30
Devotional: Isaiah prophesied a Messiah who wouldn't break a bruised reed or snuff out a smoldering wick. This is the Jesus we serve—gentle with the wounded, patient with the struggling. Unlike the Pharisees who crushed people under impossible religious standards, Jesus invites the weary to find rest. He doesn't force His way to victory through violence but through sacrificial love. Are you carrying burdens that Jesus never intended you to bear? Self-righteousness is exhausting; grace is liberating. The same Jesus who withdrew from conflict to heal quietly still offers rest to exhausted souls today. Bring Him your weariness, your failures, your withered places. He won't crush you for your weakness; He'll restore you with His gentleness.
