Day 5: The Gospel-Shaped Life

Reading: Matthew 12:46-50; 1 John 4:7-21

Devotional: Jesus redefined family around gospel bonds stronger than biology. When the gospel truly grips us, it transforms everything—our relationships, our time, our priorities. We love the unlovely because Christ loved us when we were unlovable. We forgive the undeserving because we've been forgiven an unpayable debt. We invest our leisure in eternal pursuits because we're captivated by our King's mission. The discipled heart doesn't compartmentalize Jesus into Sunday mornings but welcomes Him into every room of life. This isn't legalism but love responding to love. As you reflect on this week's readings, ask: Does the gospel shape how I treat people? Does my love for Jesus affect my use of time? Neutrality isn't an option—choose wholehearted devotion today.
