Day 1: Jesus Is Greater
Reading: Matthew 12:38-42; Colossians 1:15-20
Devotional: The Pharisees sought signs while missing the very presence of God among them. Jesus declared himself greater than Jonah and Solomon—greater than any prophet or king. Today, we face the same temptation: making good things ultimate things. Career success, family harmony, financial security—all good gifts—can become functional saviors when we look to them for what only Christ provides. The danger isn't in enjoying these blessings but in depending on them for our identity and security. Christ alone deserves the throne of our hearts. What good thing are you tempted to make an ultimate thing? Confess it today and re-center your life on the One who is truly greater than all.
